Can I just voice how freaking proud I am of this girl?

We’ve seen how confused/guarded she was since the kiss –– utterly confused as to what it meant to him, how in this (whatever ‘this’ is) he really was/is; desperately needing to know what her ‘grumpy mystery’ of a roommate was feeling before she jumped in…

But the second she gets an inkling of positive reinforcement from him, she is the one who ends up asking him to make that ‘date’ an actual date.

As painful as it was to do, she puts an end to the ‘funny business,’ to avoid some weird ‘roomfriends with benefits’ situation they’d have found themselves in, in an effort once again, not to be hurt ––

then gives him another chance. ‘What do you think?’

Then, all at once, she’s suddenly more sure than she’s ever been after that night – because he got to show her exactly how he feels. Words are suddenly not so important.

(They’ve ~~always~~ been more show ~~than tell~~)

She could have let her dad get inside her head too, allowed her fears of ending up alone like her parents (as she admitted to her mom) to hold her back; and just as easily could have let Nick push her away.

She could have been angry at the way he dismissed them, ~~her~~, and pretty much confirmed every fear she had about opening herself to him in the first place and then him running away.

Instead she just pours her heart out and fights. (Won’t let him white fang her.)

And she has no delusions of who this man is, two years spent getting to know him as a roommate, best friend, confidant, partner in crime (no matter how stupid things get) has let her in on every facet of his personality, even the parts that aren’t so pretty, and that ‘drive her nuts.’

But she’s ready to try anyway.

I’ve totally understood her hesitation thus far on opening up herself to the possibility of her & Nick, him being the ‘grumpy mystery,’ that he is, and her tendency to ‘love more,’ in relationships plus there being so much to lose.

But now that they’ve taken that step, and she’s growing more sure of what she wants –– she’s standing up to her dad, taking the plunge, and fighting for it, and putting it all out there.

I just needed to throw in my two cents about the finale, all the cool kids are doing it…

For those defending Kate’s actions here – I’m not exactly sure I see a valid point as to why. Honestly, as Castle said, his anger came from her keeping it a secret and not thinking to include him in the choice to fly there for the interview.

“I wouldn’t have done that to you…” And he wouldn’t have, ever.

Has Castle ever proven to be unsupportive of her choices? (Besides when she was basically on a suicide mission, and she didn’t listen to him and she almost fell off a freaking roof.)

He would have, and I firmly believe this, been supportive of the offer – to the extent that he would have talked it through with her. And yes, even considered the move.

Because he’s rich, right? And his daughter is grown, and mom has her own life?

So, his life needs to revolve around hers, (more than it already does – he’s spent four years risking his life in a dangerous field for her) but when it comes down to it, it’s just her life?

How is that fair?!

If she didn’t think they would be over if she moved, if she thought they could do long distance, or that he’d move –– then give him a freaking heads up!

Whether you think you guys are ‘going somewhere’ in the future, he is your partner NOW and your first instinct shouldn’t always be to LIE to him.
